Te Uru Secondary Art Award
Currents 2024
Time and location
16 NOV – 1 DEC 2024
LEARNING CENTRE GALLERY
Te Uru is pleased to present a new award celebrating artistic talent within West Auckland high schools. Each school is invited to nominate an artwork by a top Year 13 Art student and the finalist works are exhibited in Currents 2024. Inspired by the tides of the Manukau Harbour, which Te Uru overlooks, this exhibition is a celebration of the wave of young artists graduating from West Auckland high schools and the importance of fresh perspectives.
This year’s judge is prominent artist and educator Fiona Jack, who is Head of School at Te Waka Tūhura Elam School of Fine Arts and Design, University of Auckland. The First Prize winner is awarded $1,000 generously funded by Lopdell Trust. All finalists also receive a $100 voucher kindly donated by Gordon Harris.
The winner is announced at the awards ceremony on Saturday 30 November 2024 at 2pm.
