The support we receive from our community makes our vibrant programme possible. There are many different ways to support the gallery and be a part of Te Uru including through volunteering, becoming a member, or joining our benefactors collective.

Te Uru Waitākere Contemporary Gallery Incorporated
is a registered charity. We rely on the generosity of businesses and organisations to deliver our programme to the community. If you wish to discuss how your business or organisation could support the important work we do, we’d love to hear from you.

Ways to support

Hei tautoko

If you share a passion for contemporary art, we invite you to be a part of Te Uru Benefactors Collective (TBC).

This philanthropic initiative is a way to support the Gallery and enjoy an
exciting array of programmes, events, and tours with an inspired group of like-minded benefactors.

Our inaugural TBC patron is esteemed artist Gretchen Albrecht. Together with Director AD Schierning and the wider whanau at Te Uru, we warmly welcome you to join us in realising our vision for the Gallery’s future.

I have had an association with West Auckland for nearly 60 years and have seen great changes in that time. Adrienne Schierning, Director, and James Gatt, Curator, are forging a new and interesting direction that will make Te Uru a future destination to find quality, thought-provoking exhibitions. I fully endorse their vision and dedication, but they cannot do this without patron support, therefore I am delighted to accept the invitation to become TBC’s Inaugural Patron. — Gretchen Albrecht, 2023

By donating through TBC, you will be invited to join us for events that
include:

  • Private social events including fundraisers and our annual TBC dinner.
  • Studio visits with leading local artists.
  • Private exhibition previews and curatorial walkthroughs at Te Uru and other local galleries.
  • Previews of special projects as they arise, such as publications.

The names of our generous TBC supporters will be published on the gallery entrance wall and on our website, although anonymity is also respected if preferred.
