In association with Orbit Auckland, Te Uru is delighted to open bookings for our 2025 Japan Art Tour. 

Te Uru Director AD Schierning, Curator James Gatt and esteemed writer and art historian Linda Tyler, on an engaging, intimate art tour of Japan that is sure to leave you inspired. Tyler has led numerous art and architecture tours through Japan and the tour also includes a Japanese guide. 

The 11-night tour commences in Tokyo before moving on to Kanazawa, Naoshima, Okayama, and Kyoto. You will visit many of Japan’s most renowned and striking cultural sites with a small group of like-minded art enthusiasts, encountering world-leading and culture-defining unions of art and architecture, including Olafur Eliason’s Colour activity house outside the SANAA-designed 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art in Kanazawa; Monet’s Lilies in purpose-built architecture at Chi Chu Art Museum; James Turell’s light installations on Naoshima Island; numerous architectural marvels designed by Tadao Ando; and Fushimi Inari Shrine, among many others.
