Pleasure Technologies with Iza Lozano
Time and location
SUNDAY 7 JUL,
10AM - 11:30AM
LEARNING CENTRE
Price
$150
In this hands-on porcelain workshop, participants create an sculptural ceramic object shaped by their own sense of pleasure. Working through hand building techniques, each piece is glazed and fired to high temperature — transforming raw clay into something durable, personal, and entirely your own.
Using ceramics as a medium for reflection and experimentation, the workshop invites an open exploration of form and desire. No experience required.
This is an adult workshop. Participants assume responsibility for any items created during the workshop following completion. Te Uru and the tutor are not liable for the subsequent handling or use of completed works.
Iza Lozano is a Mexican ceramic artist born in Baja California in 1991, now based in Tāmaki Makaurau. She trained at the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes in Mexico City, where an early interest in anthropology and Mexico's rich pottery heritage drew her toward clay as both a cultural and artistic medium. Her practice spans sculptural and functional ceramics, and she is an active presence in Auckland's arts community as both an artist and educator.
Suitable for adults (21 years +)
Materials provided.
Fired works will be ready for collection in late September.
