Kahurangiariki Smith

Bedazzling Workshop

Time and location

SAT 18 APR, 11AM

Join artist Kahurangiariki Smith for a drop-in making session where everyday objects are transformed through sparkle, colour, and care. In this hands-on workshop, participants are invited to bring a personal item like a phone case, sunglasses, lighter, notebook, hair clip, or tote bag and bedazzle it using a shared table of rhinestones and gems

Working alongside the artist, you’ll explore embellishment as both decoration and statement: a way of drawing attention, shifting value, and re-imagining the things we carry with us. The session embraces play, repetition, and patience. The slow placing of each stone becoming a collective rhythm of making. Kahurangiariki will share tips, techniques, and prompts while participants experiment freely with pattern, density, and shine.
