Melissa Mead of Mead Ceramics is a tutor, ceramic artist, and glaze maker whose work celebrates the creativity and craftsmanship of New Zealand ceramics. Based in the North Shore, she is guided by skill and intuition, creating handcrafted pottery, jewellery, and decorative ceramic homewares that are playful, expressive, and uniquely whimsical.

Originally based in Texas, USA, Mead moved to South Africa and discovered her joy of pottery, experimenting and creating. Her ceramic mugs, plates, bowls and pitchers feature a diverse range of beautifully rich colours, smooth or textured glazes, and a combination of porcelain, stoneware and clay materials, offering something for everyone to enjoy.

As every cup is individually handcrafted, slight variations in colour, glaze, and surface are part of its unique character.
