This seven-week course explores how daily life can become the subject matter of art, using objects and photographs from students' own lives as a starting point. Each two-hour session combines observational drawing exercises, group discussion, and hands-on making, with students bringing a new object or image each week to build towards a final composite work in the last two sessions. Working across pencil, watercolour, gouache, pastel, or whatever media suits them, participants will gradually assemble a visual record of their own world. No prior experience necessary, just curiosity and a willingness to look.
Richard is an award-winning exhibiting artist based in Tāmaki Makaurau with over 25 years teaching experience.
Suitable for all skill levels, materials provided.
