Changing Tides Kōkopu Pounamu Pendant

Aroha Te Kahika is a Ngai Tahu artisan carver based in Waimārama, Hawke's Bay. He collects all his stones in Te Waipounamu the South Island and blesses each one. These beautiful Taonga Pounamu are hand-carved in a variety of shapes inspired by the ngahere (forest) and the moana (ocean).

Kōkopu pounamu is a distinct type of New Zealand greenstone (nephrite jade) featuring a unique, mottled, or speckled texture that mimics the spotted skin of the native Giant Kōkopu (freshwater trout).
