Join exhibiting artist Gretchen Albrecht for an insightful walkthrough of Liquid States, the first survey of the artist’s work in 20 years. Focusing on works produced by Albrecht in the 1970s and 80s, Liquid States maps the ongoing significance of liquidity in her practice. The exhibition includes a generous selection of important paintings, watercolours, collages, and drawings, many of which were made in response to the natural landscape of the West Coast of Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland.
This walkthrough is a unique opportunity to hear directly from Albrecht about the ideas and inspirations central to her renowned practice, and will highlight key works in the exhibition with fascinating detail. The walkthrough commences at 11am and will be guided by Curator James Gatt.
Light refreshments will be served prior in Reception from 10.30am, generously supplied by The Crafty Baker.
