Lettuce x Auckland Art Gallery - Puzzle - Gretchen Albrecht Skydive

Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki is proud to collaborate with Lettuce to release these wonderful puzzles. These puzzles allow you to get up close with fantastic New Zealand art.

Produced in 1974, 10 years after Albrecht’s first solo show, Skydive is part of a suite of works that layer the landscape – looking both up into heavens, and down into earth’s mysterious subterranean strata. She presents a world filled with luminous colour and joyous wonder, prompting us to look anew at our home, the Earth. Writer Martin Edmond once described Albrecht’s paintings as ‘rainbow filters through which the light of the landscape enters the room’. Delight as each piece of this puzzle reveals a new layer of this exquisite painting, filling your home with the beautiful exuberance of Aotearoa.
