Visiting with a group

Te Uru welcomes visits from groups. Entry to the gallery and exhibitions is free for groups. A group is 10 or more people. If you are bringing a large group, we recommend you book in advance to ensure you get the most from your visit.

You can also visit our Lopdell Precinct neighbours and enjoy the views from the roof of historic Lopdell House, or make a day of it and see McCahon House nearby in French Bay.

We recommend you check What's On before you visit to confirm our schedule of exhibitions and events.

DRAWING IN THE GALLERY

Drawing is welcomed in the gallery (pencil only, no ink, paint or charcoal) with sketchbooks (preferably no larger than 20 x 30cm). No easels or stools, and please avoid blocking access (i.e. stairs).

VISITING WITH A SCHOOL

Our education programmes are designed to complement learning in the classroom. We have a range of workshops designed to meet the needs of teachers and students. If you are planning a visit for a school group, please contact our Education Manager, Iona Matheson. See our Learn page for information about our upcoming education programmes and workshops.

ACCESS

If any of your visitors require special assistance during their visit, please call us in advance on (09) 817 8087. There is a parking space available for disabled visitors outside the front of the gallery. The gallery is accessible by wheelchair. Guide  and hearing dogs are welcome.
